Toy Network released a large amount of Sonic the Hedgehog plush in the early to late 2000 era. They were exclusive to the USA and could be won as prizes at funfairs and carnivals, etc. they were not available to be bought in stores. They varied greatly in size, quality, and even used varies different fabrics! They mostly had either felt or velboa fur with plastic eyes. In the 2000's Toy Network Sonic plush completely flooded auction sites and were very cheap. Nowadays, they are slowly creeping up in value, and the costume variants are especially sought after with collectors due to their unique designs. They were never the most character accurate plush in my personal opinion and I have never collected them (I always found them slightly cheap and tacky looking!) but to this day, you rarely see a Sonic collection without a Toy Network Sonic plush!
I'm sorry I cannot give exact sizes on any of these plush. From eBay auctions, it seems every plush varies greatly in measurements, and so I have included a rough estimate for each plush category.
I should also point out that Toy Network released -A LOT- of plush in many different sizes, and it can be very difficult to distinguish each plush and its true size. So I could well have made a lot of mistakes here! But I have tried my best to database the Toy Network Sonic plush to the best of my knowledge.

Early Toy Network Sonic Plush
When Toy Network first started making Sonic plush around 2003, they made, in my personal opinion, better quality plush. I do not have the best knowledge when it comes to Toy Network, but I do remember the earliest Sonic plush they made had longer velboa fur and looked quite decent! Sorry, I have yet to source a photo of one for the database. I have included some plush with similar longer velboa fur, that could potentially be part of the original Toy Network Sonic plush release. As far as I am aware, I have only seen Sonic with this longer fur.
Small 8 Inch Plush
The smallest Toy Network Sonic plush were approx 8" tall. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose and Shadow were all made only in a felt material, with no other fur variant. They had plastic eyes that appeared too big for their small bodies. They were probably the least attractive of the Toy Network Sonic plush due to their scaled down size, which weren't pulled off very well.
Medium 10-18 Inch Plush
The medium size Toy Network Sonic plush were the most common size, that could be won at funfairs and carnivals. They were most commonly found to be made in a felt material with plastic eyes in proportion to their body's.
Large 20-24 Inch Plush
These Toy Network Sonic plush were larger in size, but still small enough not to take up a load of space. These were made in a short velboa material, sometimes, with fur variations. For example, the first Sonic has shinier blue fur whilst the second Sonic had more of a matt finish to his fur. I am not sure whether they also made felt fur variants, but it is a possibility.
Extra Large 28-32 Inch Plush
Up next we have the 28-32 inch Toy Network Sonic’s! These make great collector’s pieces for a Sonic collector or game room due to their larger size. Some were filled with straw-like material so aren’t very huggable. They were made in a velboa material with plastic eyes, which sometimes ended up not matching the size of the plush, see Tails and Amy for an example!
Giant Life Size 48-60 Inch Plush
Check out these life size Toy Network Sonic plush! These guys are HUGE, the size of a human adult and take up a lot of space. These plush are extremely rare, in fact, I haven’t seen one pop up for sale in years. I can only imagine they weren’t made in large quantities. Adding to their rarity, these were made during the early days of Toy Network’s Sonic production, and could only be won as prizes at funfairs and carnivals. I’m sure a Shadow was also made, but I have yet to source a photo. They were made in a short velboa material with plastic eyes, which didn’t quite match the scale of these enormous plush! I would imagine they were either straw-filled or pellet- filled, as many larger sized plush are often filled this way.
Toy Network Themed Medium Size Plush
My personal favourite of the Toy Network Sonic plush! Toy Network decided to take their 12 inch (most common) Sonic plush range, and made some seasonable, and very unique/ random Sonic plush! and some of these really are so random. Included were Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Christmas and some just American themed, etc. They are so random in fact, sometimes they are often mistaken as being bootlegs. They could be won at funfairs and carnivals in the USA. The database below is more than likely incomplete, as I keep coming across new variations. They were mostly made in a felt material and were soft filled. They came with both Sonic Adventure and Sonic X style tags, so these themed plush were made for a good few years during the early 2000’s.
Toy Network Sonic X Plush
Around 2006, ToyNetwork released some new Sonic plush, this time with Sonic X themed tags to tie in with the hit TV show!
I should start by saying that I found it difficult to decide how to organise these photos and even harder identifying all the sizes. So I decided to showcase the photos below just by showing each character that were made with the Sonic X tags. Sourcing photos for these plush has been hard, as not many are on Google images or auction sites, so I’m probably missing quite a few sizes and variants.
These plush were mostly small to medium in size. There were 3 variants of fur made for these plush. Felt, a new shiny velvet and vinyl for silver Sonic. The felt plush had the usual plastic eyes, where as the shiny velvet plush had a cheaper vinyl printed on eyes. The velvet plush were of very poor quality and grossly under filled! They were very lightly bean filled and had a very shrivelled up deflated appearance due to not much filling being used.
Cream, Rouge and Silver Sonic were 3 new characters introduced in the Sonic X plush range. Silver Sonic was a very random addition (but a great collector’s piece!). Rouge was an Australian exclusive ToyNetwork release, and was one of the last plush ToyNetwork released. I’ve decided to include Rouge here in the USA section, because I feel a Australian modern Sonic plush section wouldn’t warrant its own category just for 3 plush.
